Rofl, this cracks me up. Judge rules that its ok for Fox news to lie and distort news facts. Why would any competent news agency even take this stand if they were worth watching, sad really.

I never said fox news was competent. If this was about BBC id have posted that too. But this affects all the news companies in the states. It would be hard to not be a bit biased when reporting the news, or distorting the facts a bit. But this says they can out right lie and make shit up. Just proves that you have to take what your hearing with a grain of salt i suppose.

Murdochs lawyers (Murdoch is Australian btw) hid behind the 1st amendment of the constitution, a document written in good will that has been outrageously used by all and sundry for their own gain, not the countries good.
The first amendment says this -
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Somehow Murdochs lawyers twisted this right to free speech, to mean it and other powerful media organisations could exercise the right to freely corrupt the publics minds with misinformation, and a jury of good americans swallowed that bullshit.
When will the world wake up and smell the flowers, we in the west think were smart, free, civilised .....but were just slaves to the Murdochs of the world, were not particularly smart, not very free, and we'll be able to call ourselves civilised when we stop killing each other, shitting in our own backyard, obliterating species, allowing a church to deny the life saving qualities of condoms, leaving so many people to die uneccesarily, hindering scientific advances because of religion etc etc etc.
Long live truth........if we strive for truth, in all areas of society, we will flourish as a race, but as long as we live in denial, we walk toward the abyss.
